Manager, Sales and Marketing Analytics

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

A. Essential functional duties of the position

1. Identify, acquire, and analyze 3rd party sales data sources (e.g. Xponent, DDD, Plantrak, Early view, managed care data sources)
2. Establish and enforce appropriate boundaries rules to ensure data integrity and quality across Sales and Marketing information systems.
3. Create processes that will allow for efficient updates to the Data Mart from non-3rd party sources (e.g. Samples, Call Activity, Daily Sales)
4. Provide for standard reports via Excel workbooks and/or to other system applications (e.g. SFA), ensuring prescribed quality standards and deadlines are met.
5. Design and publish “presentation style” reports as necessary.
6. Provide ad hoc data analysis services, using Excel, SAS, Oracle SQL extracts or a business intelligence tool.
7. Maintain a high degree of proficiency in understanding 3rd party sales data. Continuously research new data sources that may give CVT new insights into its marketplace.

B. Other responsibilities/accountabilities (marginal functions)
Assist with Field Incentive Compensation and Territory Alignment.

Relevant Quantitative Dimensions
(e.g., budget, supervisory responsibilities):

1. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
2. Good with data management practices (ETL preferred)
3. SAS, Oracle SQL, MS Access and Excel proficiency (preferred)
4. Detail orientated
5. BS/BA in life sciences or technical field
6. MBA or equiv. a plus
7. Strong project management skills – can lead recommend and lead analytical efforts
8. Good oral and written communication skills
9. Good analytical skills
10. Flexible and customer oriented
11. Works well and delivers under rigorous deadlines
12. Experience administering Incentive Compensation programs and best practices
13. Experience managing territory alignments


Knowledge/Skill Requirements

1. Five or more years working with IMS sales data or equivalent, in an manager/data management capacity
2. Five or more years experience with Bio-pharmaceutical companies working with Sales organizations.
3. Ideally, 3+ years working with SAS, Excel, ETL or business intelligence tools.
4. Report design and distribution.
5. Oracle SQL expérience a plus.
6. Experience in a small start-up environment a plus.
